You have questions.
You don't have to have all the answers.
Can I call if I'm not sure I actually need a lawyer?
Yes. You don't need to diagnose your own legal problem before calling us. Tell us what's happening. We can help determine what questions you should be asking and whether we are the right firm to help.
Can I talk to you if I'm thinking about divorce but I'm not ready to leave?
Absolutely. Talking to a lawyer doesn't commit you to divorce. Understanding your rights, finances, property, parenting considerations and options gives you information. What you ultimately decide to do with that information remains your choice.
Do I need to be wealthy to need a prenup?
No. Prenuptial agreements can provide clarity for people with businesses, homes, retirement savings, children from previous relationships, family assets, debt or simply a desire to establish expectations before marriage.
Can you review an agreement someone else gave me?
Yes. We review prenuptial agreements, business contracts, operating agreements, employment agreements and other legal documents so you understand what you're agreeing to before you sign.
Can I get a second opinion if I already have an attorney?
Yes. There are circumstances where another experienced legal perspective can be helpful. We offer strategic consultations and second opinions where appropriate.
Do I have enough assets to need an estate plan?
Estate planning isn't determined by a magic net-worth number. If you care who receives your property, who makes decisions for you if you can't, who would care for your children, what happens to your business or how difficult you want things to be for the people you leave behind, estate planning is worth discussing.
I own a business. Can you look at both my business and personal legal protection?
Yes. Business ownership can intersect with marriage, divorce, estate planning, incapacity and succession. We can look at how those pieces work together rather than pretending each exists in isolation.
Do you only represent women?
No. Longtin Law Office represents people who connect with our approach to practicing law. Part of our purpose is creating a legal environment in which women feel informed, heard and empowered to protect themselves, their families, their businesses and their futures. But our fundamental philosophy is universal: Every person's circumstances are different. Their legal strategy should reflect that.
What if I don't know what I want to do yet?
Then let's start there. You don't have to know the answer before you ask the question. Sometimes the entire purpose of meeting with a lawyer is simply to understand what's possible.
